Rubber King - Produces Rubber Bands Mainly Made From Natural Rubber and Synthetic Rubber.

Swimwear Elastic: Chlorine-Resistant Bands Cut to Length

Behind every swimsuit, bikini and pair of performance trunks is a narrow elastic band that has to survive conditions few textiles ever face: chlorinated pools, salt water, constant stretch and 40°C drying. Swimwear elastic is a specialist product – and getting the specification right is the difference between a garment that holds its shape for seasons and one that returns as a warranty claim.

What swimwear elastic must survive

  • Chlorine and salt water – both attack ordinary rubber compounds and fade cheap elastics.
  • Continuous stretch cycles – thousands of put-on/take-off cycles with no permanent set allowed.
  • Sunlight and heat – poolside UV plus tumble drying accelerates ageing.
  • Skin contact – soft hand feel, no dye migration, hypoallergenic options for sensitive wearers.

Our TPU and TPR bands are the usual recommendation for performance swim lines, while latex-free options cover sensitive-skin and children’s programs.

Widths and forms used in swimwear

  • Leg openings – 6–12 mm flat bands, cut to length, sewn flat or turned.
  • Waistbands – 10–20 mm, often folded or covered with fabric.
  • Strap and tie ends – 3–6 mm, cut with clean edges (we offer cutting service to length).
  • Cup and edge support – narrow bands with softer tension grades.

Consistency matters more than raw strength here: a batch of bands with uneven tension shows up as wavy leg openings on the sewing floor. Our bands are cut from continuously vulcanised sheet, so width and elasticity stay uniform along the whole roll – see the elastic rubber belt range for the wider garment grades.

Cutting service: buy to length, waste nothing

Swimwear lines rarely use rolls end-to-end. We supply bands cut to your exact lengths with sealed edges – factories tell us this alone saves 5–10% of material versus cutting in-house. Specify length, width, material and tension grade; we return samples for sewing trials before production.

Private label for swim brands

Beyond plain bands, we support swim and underwear brands with custom colours matched to seasonal palettes, printed logo bands for trunks and boardshorts, and packaging-ready packs. Minimums are factory-direct and friendly to emerging brands.

FAQ

Which lasts longer in pool water: latex or TPU?

TPU. Latex loses elasticity faster under chlorine, which is why performance swimwear brands specify TPU-coated or latex-free elastics.

Can you match a sample we already use?

Yes – send the sample or its dimensions (width, thickness, stretch grade) and we will match it and quote factory-direct.

Do you supply cut lengths with sealed edges?

Yes, cutting to length with heat-sealed edges is a standard service – tell us the lengths per SKU.

Rubber King manufactures garment and swim elastics in Guangdong since 2002, exporting to apparel brands and garment factories worldwide. Request swatches and a quote – samples ship free.
